Representatives from the Taiwan Photovoltaic Industry Association visit Thunderbird
Representatives from the Taiwan Photovoltaic Industry Association (TPVIA) visited Thunderbird on Nov. 4 to learn about campus resources such as the Career Management Center, Thunderbird Learning Consulting Network and Taiwan Club. The TPVIA came to Phoenix after attending SOLAR POWER International 2009, America's largest solar event that was held in Anaheim, California.

The campus visit allowed Thunderbird to develop relationships with organizations in the solar energy industry and open new possibilities for future collaboration. Taiwan Club students had the opportunity to interact with senior executives from NexPower Technology Corporation, the Industrial Technology Research Institute and Great Science Industrial Company. Ambassadors from Phoenix Sister Cities also visited campus to facilitate the international delegation.

As a principal consultant at Thunderbird Learning Consulting Network and an alumni member of the Taiwan Club, Jenna Cheng '09 was delighted to hear about TPVIA's interest in U.S. investment opportunities.

"The potential for solar energy growth in Arizona is tremendous and interest in renewable energy, solar equipment and green products has increased over the past few years," Cheng said. "Adoption of solar energy and collaboration with worldwide industry, government and research organizations is critical - not only for environmental reasons but also for the development of Arizona's economy."

The Thunderbird Learning Consulting Network (TLCN) offers much more than the traditional advisory models offered by corporate consultancies and is a dramatic departure from the standard business school model of solely student-led projects. By melding the talents of faculty, professionals, MBA students, alumni specialists and the world's top advisers, TLCN provides globally integrated advisory services to clients in virtually any market.
