Accreditors complete fact-finding visits

A team from the Higher Learning Commission, Thunderbird's regional accreditor, completed a fact-finding visit Nov. 20-22 regarding the school's application for approval of the strategic alliance with Laureate Education, Inc. The team expressed its gratitude for the broad participation of faculty, staff, students, alumni and trustees during the site visit. The team will submit its report to the HLC. To clarify, the HLC is considering a change in structure; it is not reviewing the school's eligibility for accreditation. The purpose of the HLC review is to verify that Thunderbird's participation in the alliance is consistent with the school's ongoing compliance with HLC standards, policies and criteria for accreditation.
