ACT's pledge for transparency, communication

Like so many of you, the Alumni Council of Thunderbird (ACT) has followed with interest Thunderbird's proposed alliance with Laureate Education. In light of last week's announcement that the Higher Learning Commission did not approve the proposed plan, we are committed more than ever to working together with Thunderbird's key stakeholders to progress our goal of stronger collaboration between the school and its alumni. ACT members are engaging with key leaders in the student government, career services and faculty. We are listening to chapter leaders, alumni at large and others in our global community - recently ranked No. 3 worldwide by The Economist for "potential to network." We are also in daily communication with Thunderbird administrators and trustees. Read more...

ACT and ARO to reinitiate chapter leader calls

Based on input received from chapter leaders, ACT has collaborated with the Alumni Relations Office to relaunch chapter leader calls to facilitate the sharing of ideas and feedback. The first call is scheduled for April 17, 2014. Chapter Leaders will receive an invitation from the ARO with the agenda and conference call details.

ACT announces election of leaders

The Alumni Council of Thunderbird (ACT) is excited to announce that it elected its leaders on March 19. They are: President: Joy Lubeck '86 and Vice President: Nona Niner '81. Both alumnae are long-time contributors to Thunderbird and bring a huge amount of talent, experience and above all, passion for Thunderbird, to their roles. We are grateful for the leadership they've already demonstrated and look forward to more going forward.

ACT call for volunteers

If you, too, have the heart to serve your fellow alumni and our school, then the Alumni Council of Thunderbird (ACT) would like to hear from you. The opportunities to shape and build our school's alumni services, alumni engagement and alumni communications are tremendous. There are multiple openings for new ACT members, and we invite interested alumni to apply. We're looking for individuals who can and will serve the entire alumni community, and who will work harmoniously with all stakeholders to fulfill our goal of One Thunderbird. As an ACT member, your input will reach the decision-makers at Thunderbird, and you will enjoy the full cooperation and support of the Alumni Relations Office, the President and the Board of Trustees. It's a great opportunity to make our amazing global alumni network even better. If you are interested in serving in a leadership role, please submit an online application by April 30, 2014.
